Snorkelers are invited to explore the mystical Blue Hole, a collapsed freshwater cave system!

Although mostly visited by divers, those snorkelers willing to make a larger investment in time and money can use San Pedro as a base for some of the best diving & snorkeling in all of the Caribbean.

The Blue Hole Snorkel excursion leaves at 5:30am and returns around 5:30pm same day. This trip includes breakfast, lunch, water, rum punch and sodas, and some of the most pristine snorkeling around the rim of the Blue Hole.

Ambergris Caye is 27 miles long, and San Pedro is concentrated in only an 8 mile section. Robles is about 20 miles north of town. Our day to Robles begins as we make our way north along the coast of Ambergris Caye. Our first stop is to snorkel at Mexico Rocks, with it’s coral formations and colorful small fish.

Then we head on to Robles, where we will stop on a pristine stretch of beach where the reef almost touches the island. Here you can snorkel the reef or explore the deserted beaches in both directions.

While you are snorkeling or exploring the expanses of beach, our guide prepares a delicious Beach BBQ for you. Lunch includes BBQ chicken, roasted potatoes, pasta salad and brownies. After lunch you will have time to relax in a hammock under the shade of a coconut tree or go for another swim. Then it will be time for us to begin our return journey along the coast back to San Pedro.

The Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley are the most popular diving/snorkeling sites in all of Belize. This is due to the close proximity of San Pedro, and the large diversity of fish life found within the Hol Chan “cut” . This site is very accessible by snorkelers and beginning divers, and the novelty of swimming with large numbers of nurse sharks and sting rays appeals to everyone.

You will need to hire a boat and guide out of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. The boat will pick you up at your dock, and stop first at Hol Chan Marine Reserve, then proceed on to Shark Ray Alley.  This tour takes 2.5 hrs and is approximately 35Us +10US park fee per person; it is easy to mix diving and snorkeling at this site. Depending on availability you will have the option of a morning or afternoon snorkel, or even a private charter. Hol Chan Marine Reserve/Shark Ray Alley – a relaxing 1/2 day snorkeling trip. Hol Chan Marine Reserve is protected and open to the open sea and this allows the influx of many marine animals.

Since the water is very shallow around the rim, on the order of only a few feet, these are excellent waters for snorkeling. Water visibility outside of the Blue Hole often reaches in excess of 200 feet.

Begin your day by sailing to Hol Chan Marine Reserve, where the guides will show you around the spectacular snorkel area. Then head on to Shark Ray Alley, where you will encounter sharks and rays in their natural habitat.

Once back on board the board you can rinse off in the fresh water shower and settle in for the sail to Caye Caulker. When you reach Caye Caulker you will have time to explore our quaint sister island. After lunch, enjoy a leisurely sail back to San Pedro.

A perfect day of Sun, Sea and fun. We begin the day by making our way wouth along many of the Cayes that dot Belize’s coast.

Once at Swallow Caye you will have an opportunity to view the West Indian Manatee in their natural habitat. Then we head to Goff’s Caye where you can snorkel off the Caye’s white beaches amoung reef coral and colour fish.

Once you have worked up a healthy appetite exploring the reef or just soak up the rays, you will enjoy a tasty Beach BBQ that has been prepared by your guide. The BBQ includes fish, roasted potatoes, pasta salad, coconut rice, flour tortillas and our famous brownies. After lunch the next stop is Caye Caulker, where we see Sea Horses and snorkel at Coral Gardens. Finally we stop in Caye Caulker where you can browse our sister island before returning to San Pedro.

Manatees have been called many names, including sirenians, sea cows and even mermaids. The first Europeans to encounter manatees thought that they were seeing the mythically beautiful mermaids, which were believed to be half woman, half fish creatures. On closer inspection however, they were disappointed to see that these animals were not quite as beautiful as they thought. West Indian Manatees live in the warm coastal waters of the Caribbean.
