From the Belize City news.

"Check before you cash that BTL Checques! And we don’t mean those multi million dollar ones made out in haste before the old management left the building; those ones are fine. But what’s been appearing since the weekend are a number of fraudulent Atlantic Bank Checques.

BTL management has become aware of at least 30 of them in circulation. All those that have surfaced so far are made out in the amount of $500. So far they have appeared as third party transactions, meaning they have been cashed at merchants by individuals falsely claiming that the checks are legitimately made out to them. Well they aren’t and BTL is advising businesses and individuals to check IDs and make sure you know the individual before cashing BTL checques from Atlantic Bank. We’ll have more on this tomorrow."

Love the way they spell cheque/check.......

Cheque is just one of many words that Americans misspell...  Colour, labour, honour, centre, armour, behaviour, humour, clamour, metre, enrol, grey, neighbour, harbour.... there's a crapload of them  Grin
