God I love this man.  He just tells it like it is.

The TSA is enacting a neo-McCarthyism that must be stopped. Our liberties have never been more in jeopardy.  If you think that feeling under your penis, scratching around your labia or battering you with cancer causing radiation isn't intrusive, you should see what they do next.  If they are willing to go this far, they have no boundaries.

We gave the government the power to oppress in the name of safety.  It's time we stand and fight before it's too late.

ds, on this I agree 100%.  I read this morning where a flight attendant who had a breast removed because of cancer had to show her prosthetic breast during a pat-down.  This is completely out of hand on over the top.  I'm all for safety but this is absolutely ridiculous.  Sad

ds, and another thing that Rand mentioned which hasn't been talked about much.

Getting Rich from the TSA Naked Body Scanners

http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/economy/commentary-mainmenu-43/5240-getting-rich-from-the-naked-body-scanners

Both Soros and Chertoff are profiting from the naked body scanners by way of the company Rapiscan, whose contract is worth $173 million. Lobbyists for this company include Susan Carr, a former senior legislative aide to Rep. David Price (D-N.C.) who is coincidentally chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee.

Former Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff was “flacking for Rapiscan,” writes Tim Carney of The Examiner:

After the undie-bomber attempt on Christmas 2009, Chertoff went on a media tour promoting the use of these scanners, without disclosing that he was getting paid by Rapiscan, one of the two companies currently contracted by TSA to take a nude picture of you at the airport.

My God.......who cares whether Soros owned 11,300 shares of a profitable company, or the fact that he sold the stock......detailed in the same article you posted.  The last time I  looked this was America, not the United States of Beck.  What he does with his money bears no relevance to the issue Wink

clover, yes he presently does not own the stock but others with many ties to both sides do Chertoff in particular was touting the scanners without acknowledging his interests. I don't have a problem with using the scanners on a very selective basis, maybe with a little profiling.  Throw the PC bullshit out.

It does remind me of Cheney and Halliburton though.  Cheney had sold all his interests also but that didn't bother you.  Wink Just saying....

I'll have to consult the archives to verify what you said about Cheney  Grin  I can't do that right now I'm too worked up about tax increases; TSA, Obamacare, Immigration; Stimulus, ect.  Besides that Zeke has to go to the Vet, he's calling me now.   Grin

ds, Good article.  What the hell as the TSA done to really protect us.  Time and time again they have failed.....a person on a terrorist watch list after an attempted bombing in NYC is allowed on a plane.  Come on, I don't have a lot of trust in them to protect us.  The measures of taking your shoes off, opening your lap top and all of that where one thing.  I didn't like it but.  This is over the top and must be stopped.  If allowed and the next nut puts some explosives or whatever up his ass, what the hell are they going to make us do so compat that?  Enough is enough.  Cry

This is just typical cover your ass by government officials, I've seen these moves many times over my life.  Shit happens, I can get run over by a golf cart crossing the street for cripe sake.  Nothing is 100% so why piss off and degrade millions of people.  PROFILE and act accordingly.

Another TSA Outrage:

UPDATE: I’m getting a lot of emails asking if this is actually true and is this person actually someone I know. (1) Yes it is true — it is too absurd to be made up. (2) Yes, I know the person.

——–

A friend of mine sent me this about his TSA experience. He, unlike most of us, was coming back into the country from Afghanistan on a military charter.

——–

As the Chalk Leader for my flight home from Afghanistan, I witnessed the following:

When we were on our way back from Afghanistan, we flew out of Baghram Air Field. We went through customs at BAF, full body scanners (no groping), had all of our bags searched, the whole nine yards.

Our first stop was Shannon, Ireland to refuel. After that, we had to stop at Indianapolis, Indiana to drop off about 100 folks from the Indiana National Guard. That’s where the stupid started.

First, everyone was forced to get off the plane–even though the plane wasn’t refueling again. All 330 people got off that plane, rather than let the 100 people from the ING get off. We were filed from the plane to a holding area. No vending machines, no means of escape. Only a male/female latrine.

It’s probably important to mention that we were ALL carrying weapons. Everyone was carrying an M4 Carbine (rifle) and some, like me, were also carrying an M9 pistol. Oh, and our gunners had M-240B machine guns. Of course, the weapons weren’t loaded. And we had been cleared of all ammo well before we even got to customs at Baghram, then AGAIN at customs.

The TSA personnel at the airport seriously considered making us unload all of the baggage from the SECURE cargo hold to have it reinspected. Keep in mind, this cargo had been unpacked, inspected piece by piece by U.S. Customs officials, resealed and had bomb-sniffing dogs give it a one-hour run through. After two hours of sitting in this holding area, the TSA decided not to reinspect our Cargo–just to inspect us again: Soldiers on the way home from war, who had already been inspected, reinspected and kept in a SECURE holding area for 2 hours. Ok, whatever. So we lined up to go through security AGAIN.

This is probably another good time to remind you all that all of us were carrying actual assault rifles, and some of us were also carrying pistols.

So we’re in line, going through one at a time. One of our Soldiers had his Gerber multi-tool. TSA confiscated it. Kind of ridiculous, but it gets better. A few minutes later, a guy empties his pockets and has a pair of nail clippers. Nail clippers. TSA informs the Soldier that they’re going to confiscate his nail clippers. The conversation went something like this:

TSA Guy: You can’t take those on the plane.

Soldier: What? I’ve had them since we left country.

TSA Guy: You’re not suppose to have them.

Soldier: Why?

TSA Guy: They can be used as a weapon.

Soldier: [touches butt stock of the rifle] But this actually is a weapon. And I’m allowed to take it on.

TSA Guy: Yeah but you can’t use it to take over the plane. You don’t have bullets.

Soldier: And I can take over the plane with nail clippers?

TSA Guy: [awkward silence]

Me: Dude, just give him your damn nail clippers so we can get the f**k out of here. I’ll buy you a new set.

Soldier: [hands nail clippers to TSA guy, makes it through security]

This might be a good time to remind everyone that approximately 233 people re-boarded that plane with assault rifles, pistols, and machine guns–but nothing that could have been used as a weapon.
