Well at least the pilots won't have to go through all of the BS.......I guess the taxpayers needs a union too.

Just a thought

If the DEA was as tough as the TSA we wouldn't have to worry about drugs coming into the country, that is, assuming the government really wants to stop the flow of drugs into the country. Wink

I would say that this is a fairly balance article.

TSA has met the enemy... and they are us

Some of the comments after the article:

Being afraid for you life above all else is the formula for oppression.

What has stood Americans apart is that they were willing to put even their lives on the line for freedom. Yes, even their families' lives.

When Patrick Henry said, "Give me liberty, or give me death," he meant it.

Now, you hear people say, "There is no liberty if you're dead."

No. There is no liberty if you value your life and security above all else

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would rather die free and with my dignity than live oppressed and in fear. Which seems what the current administration wants

Thanks again to George and his Brown Shirt regime.  The Constitutional rights violations perpetrated by his administration will last forever.    By the way you and the ACLU have something in common now....you both are outraged at the Brown Shirt mentality of the US government.    In the meantime...I leave for florida tomorrow for 2 weeks......my tan was fading. November 24th is national Opt-out day.  Don't foget to opt out of the naked body scanners.

Also, I recommend concealing a rolled up copy of the 4th Amendment in your underwear just to make it fun.

The latest from the TSA.   Sad

http://www.news10.net/news/article.aspx?storyid=113529&provider=top&catid=188

SACRAMENTO, CA - An airline pilot is being disciplined by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for posting video on YouTube pointing out what he believes are serious flaws in airport security.

Update: Whistleblowing pilot explains why he did it

The 50-year-old pilot, who lives outside Sacramento, asked that neither he nor his airline be identified. He has worked for the airline for more than a decade and was deputized by the TSA to carry a gun in the cockpit.

He is also a helicopter test pilot in the Army Reserve and flew missions for the United Nations in Macedonia.

Three days after he posted a series of six video clips recorded with a cell phone camera at San Francisco International Airport, four federal air marshals and two sheriff's deputies arrived at his house to confiscate his federally-issued firearm. The pilot recorded that event as well and provided all the video to News10.

At the same time as the federal marshals took the pilot's gun, a deputy sheriff asked him to surrender his state-issued permit to carry a concealed weapon.

If Obama did away with TSA, FOX News would be up in arms that he doesn't want Americans kept safe. Could you imagine? Roll Eyes

When GWB started the TSA I was outraged. We already have a DHS and TSA, it's called the United States Military. If we wouldn't have wasted gazillions of dollars invading far away places we could have secured our airports with professionals, not fast food worker rejects.

We could have put two armed undercover military men or women on every flight in America and still been money ahead and safer than we are now.

TSA is a tax payer travesty.

Oh yeah, can just see armed soldiers in airports frisking grandma!
At least with the Mickey Dee staff there now, you can tell them to shove it.

The US Military should never be called to act upon it's own people except under the most extreme of circumstances, and then only when marshal law is required.

Regardless, the security policies are a joke and would be regardless who was administering them.

Tim Bray, tech guru and google employee wrote an excellent overview of the security theater going on today and what really has kept us safe the past 10 years.  It's short and sweet and a must read.

Haven't seen this in US airports but maybe this would help speed thing up a little.  Of course you have to have the attitude that you want to move passengers efficiently.

I also have an invention that will allow current metal detectors to scan shoes.  It comes in two parts,  You place the ascending piece at the entrance to the metal detector followed by the descending piece at the exit.  I call it a ramp.
