Can anyone enlighten me on the Laws of Real estate Agents in Belize?
It seems very strange that a Realtor can be appointed a receiver by a bank, and then that same Realtor advertises the property for sale "Under foreclosure", isn’t that a conflict of interest? Roll Eyes This hurts the owner’s chance of selling the property, if he is advertising it as a foreclosure sale.
I always thought the Receiver was supposed to work as a mediator between the parties involved.
This realtor seems to think that the property he is acting as the receiver for is his, and can do what he wants with the personal effects of the people who used to live there, even though the Bank has not officially foreclosed on the property.
He has also provided accommodation for his personal friends at the property, saying they are the caretakers, when there is a local guy on site who cleans the property.
I wonder if those people have the correct documentation to live and work here???

These are hard times for a lot of people, do we really need an outsider coming here to capitalize on other peoples misfortunes and to blatantly show such an arrogant attitude towards those who have fallen on bad times. For example he signs his email with the company name of the owner of the property; **********in liquidation. Just to rub it in. He has nothing to do with the owners company, so why else would he put it on his emails other than to shame the owner.
I am not the owner, just someone really pi**ed at this guy’s attitude.

So who is the Realtor, who is the owner, and what exactly has been done?

I do not want to say who at this time, as I said, I am not the owner of the property just someone who got caught in the middle.

I was just wondering how a realtor can be a receiver and also try sell the property at the same time.
If I was in a position like that, I would be pushing hard to sell the property, I could then work out a deal with the bank and pocket any money made on the sale. For example, if the bank was owed, say $800,000, I am the receiver/realtor, I find a client who will buy the property for 1.5 million, I could then approach the bank pay off the loan with my own money, sell to the client and walk away with a nice profit. If I was working as the receiver this would be easy for me to do. On wall street they call it insider trading, which is illegal. This realtor must think he has the "Midas touch" HINT HINT, to those who know real estate offices in San Pedro.

What do you people think? is this right what he and the bank is doing?
