the debates especially how much I do not like what I am hearing about Perry. That immigration thang gonna be a problem for a lot of us - Dream Act and position on border - that boy be fading fast.
At least Romney could argue Romney-care as a states issue, Perry has no argument for his immigration policy except we are wrong.       ............................. That dog don't hunt!

ry, I had hopes for Perry but the more I learn about him.... Sad  Mitt was my governor for a number of years, he was my choice over McCain.  Now having said that Mitt Mitt Romney is not a conservative.  He is good with business matters and has the balls to cut where necessary.  The public unions here hated him and he was quite mild in his actions with them.  There have much more severe cuts since him by the dems.

The jury is out and I haven't made up my mind yet but he is a world ahead of Numb Nuts.  Isn't there a Conservative out there with the following qualifications:  true conservative; honest; good hair; sex appeal; quick wit; ability to pick a good team; and eloquent.  You know all the things that are needed to get us out of this crap we are in.   Wink

“Here’s your government spending, assholes. Only $1.4 billion more and you can get to work on one of those light rails you keep talking about.” Sources confirmed Boehner later threw a five-dollar bill onto the Capitol steps, saying, “While you’re at it, go buy yourselves a traffic cone.”

Mean while in the real world here is what Numb Nuts solution is:   Roll Eyes  Spend $200k to create a $50k job.  Of course the price tag is probably going to be more.  Wink   Warning this is not from the "Onion" this is for real and going on in Washington, DC today.  Angry  406 more days

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner didn't dispute a Harvard economist's estimate that each job in the White House's jobs plan would cost $200,000, but said the pricetag is the wrong way to measure the bill's worth.

And he also pointed out, in an interview today with ABC News' David Muir, that there is no other option on the table for getting the economy moving and putting more people back to work.

"You've got to think about the costs of the alternatives," Geithner said when asked about Harvard economist Martin Feldstein's calculation that each job created by President Obama's American Jobs Act would cost taxpayers about $200,000.

"If government does nothing, it does nothing now because they're scared by politics or they want to debate what's perfect, then there will be fewer Americans back to work, the economy will be weaker," he said.

So Ragman...what is the GOP alternative?  Do nothing?  Watch the American economy implode?  Share the GOP solution if you will Wink

Here you go Mike.  Wink

                House Jobs Plan

Empowering Families, Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs

Empower Small Business Owners and Reduce Regulatory Burdens:

• Require congressional review and approval of any government regulations that have a
significant impact on the economy or burden small businesses.

• Audit existing and pending regulations to identify and address those that hinder economic
growth.

Fix the Tax Code to Help Job Creators:

• Increase American competitiveness to spur investment and create more American jobs by
streamlining the tax code and lowering the tax rate for businesses and individuals
including small business owners to no more than 25%
.
• Reform the tax code to allow American businesses to bring back their overseas profits
without having to pay a tax penalty so they can invest in our economy and create
American jobs.

Increase Competitiveness for American Manufacturers:

• Pass the three pending free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea to
create up to 250,000 jobs.

• Continue to open new markets to American made products.

Encourage Entrepreneurship and Growth:

• Modernize our patent system to protect our nation’s innovators, discourage frivolous
lawsuits, and expedite patent reviews.

• Re-Authorize and improve federal programs and approval processes to streamline
development of new products.

• Remove barriers to building a first class workforce so that the United States can compete
in the global marketplace and lead the way in technological development and growth.
Maximize Domestic Energy Production to Ensure an Energy Policy for the 21st Century:

• Promote lower energy prices through increased domestic production.

• Encourage all forms of energy production.

Pay Down America’s Unsustainable Debt Burden and Start Living Within our Means:

• Build upon the House Republicans’ Budget by enacting significant spending cuts.

What is the Senate's plan, Mike?  They are not in any rush.  Roll Eyes     Even the dems aren't too keen on it?  Wink

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/sep/27/obamas-jobs-plan-not-top-priority-reid/

Obama’s jobs plan isn’t top priority for Reid

By Stephen Dinan     The Washington Times      Tuesday, September 27, 2011

President Obama still is pressing Congress to pass his jobs stimulus bill immediately, but his own party leaders in the Senate, where Democrats have a majority, have pushed that vote off yet again.

Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, said Monday night that when the Senate returns from a weeklong vacation, the chamber will work instead on a bill that would push to label China a currency manipulator, which would make retaliatory steps in order.

“I don’t think there’s anything more important for a jobs measure than China trade,” Mr. Reid said.

Late Monday, before he closed down the Senate, Mr. Reid locked in an early test vote for when senators return next week.

Mr. Obama two weeks ago sent Congress legislation he said would create jobs by extending and expanding temporary tax cuts and boosting infrastructure spending, which he offset by increasing taxes over the long term.

The president has been traveling the country demanding that Congress act immediately, but even his own party has not been keen to rush the legislation.

Mr. Reid is the Senate sponsor of the measure, but he said there are other priorities.

“We’ll get to that, but let’s get some of these things done that we have to get done first,” he said.
