I noticed that Belize has been put on the blacklist in  the USA as a major route for illegal drugs moving into America.

Then I saw this article in the Ambergris Daily.

After hearing that the USA is preparing to spend even more money to stop illegal drugs crossing their borders. All this will actually do is make these drugs more expensive to the end user, and more money for the organizers of supply routes etc. etc.

In the meantime they will berate countries like Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and Mexico that they are not doing enough to help on the USA’S war on drugs. Without a doubt the USA should look at themselves as they export more guns to Central America, in fact they almost have an exclusive in these areas. Any person can basically go into Texas and buy 1000 AK 47s and as much ammunition as they wish. The gun seller does not have to ask why they need this many guns, and will just suspect that these people may be worried about rabbits over populating their ranch. These guns, without a doubt ,will end up in Central America within a week of their purchase. How many people are killed and murdered by these weapons are anybody’s guess but that is not the  problem of the government of the USA, as it is perfectly legal to sell as many guns as possible as the supporters of both the democrats and republicans say so.Anyway why should any politician in the US care if a national of central america is murdered.

It is about time the USA stood up and realized that they are more to blame than any other country and that they should stop bleating about their drug problem and not criticize countries like ours.

This is the most unbelievable pile of crap I have read in a long time.  If the author can prove that "anyone" can fly into Texas, and buy 1000 AK 47's with a bullshit story you're killing rabbits....put up your facts.  Additionally please explain how the "buyer" managed to ship 1000 AK 47's out of the country and into Central America.  Please provide facts or you're just a liar.  To assume that most of the weapons in Central America come from America is absolutely delusional.  The facts show most weapons bought in Honduras, and neighboring countries come from Nicaragua or Venezuela.

Drug running through central american countries has been going on for decades.  The fact that a list of the countries know to be involved is published, means nothing to tourists.  They still go to Mexico and Belize regularly.  The issue of who is responsible is another issue.

When a country (Belize) has an unemployment rate of near 25%, it could be expected that the unemployed will find work, no matter what it may be.  If you want to slow drug running in Belize you might petition the oligopoly you call your government and encourage them to create jobs instead of spending the nations treasure creating monopolies and gifting the nations fortunes to cronies.

The US probably wouldn't be vocal about drug trafficking through Belize if we weren't sending millions to prevent it.  What we need to do is stop sending money and just fight our drug problem at the border.  Obviously we're pissing away money dealing with a country that takes our money and provides nothing in return.

Never argue with a fool.  They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
