I see that Marty has locked down the vigorous thread on this over on the other side, after a couple of lame attempts by stooges to change its direction.  Speaks volumes for where his advertising revenue comes from.

Sorry, just seen that Peter has the same idea.  Never mind - what do others think?

I'm amazed that the thread lasted as long as it did.  Wink Two days ago the cracks started and yesterday they where widening by the hour.

"On Monday morning, October 31st, Mayor Elsa Paz appeared on The Reef Radio’s “Good Morning San Pedro” in an attempt to defend her project. On the show she all but called everyone objecting to her town clock, “uneducated” and demanded that unless 1,500 registered voters objected to her project, she would not listen. She further insinuated that many residents, because they are not Belizean Citizens, did not count"

Gringos......mind your own business! Wink

One of the sad parts (there are many) is that see ignores the business owners also.  Well maybe if they are registered voters and they can get 1499 more to agree and sign a petition or something then she will listen to them.   Sad

The sad part is that the gringos think they have a right to turn San Pedro into the US of A.  Live and let live and mind your own business Grin

Secondly, you must think I actually care what YOU think.  Second mistake.

Three...you live on the island, you're white and think you have a voice in local politics.

How am I doing ? Wink

The one thing this clock tower things has done is generated a bunch of new gringo voters.  A lot of Brits and Canadians didn't know they could register to vote.  They do now.

I never got why this was such a big deal to a bunch of white folks living on Ambergris Caye.  Maybe someone can enlighten me without including their base remarks Wink

Let me see........................
so far you've called me a jerk, a dumb ass, mister perfect and COMMIE (in caps), and not once explained your position on the clock tower.
Honestly, I could be a black muslim commie.......and still have the same rights you have under the Constitution of the United States.......hell I could be president Wink  That's what's so great about America......guys like you only get one vote....just like me Grin

PS  Almost everyone on this forum owns property in Belize..............and other places....BFD Wink

So what's the deal with the clock tower,,,,,,,,or is it just monkey see monkey do?

As to the clock tower, I am firmly against it. Money from the city would be better served in fixing roads, San Mateo, the bridge etc..
