Carney said the particular reference by the president to God was made in the context of "inaction by the House of Representatives, which has spent time on issues like commemorative Hall-of-Fame baseball coins and reaffirming a motto that I don't think anyone doubted, is that ‘In God We Trust' is our motto. So his point was simply that the House should get busy with matters of great importance to the United States and to the American people."

Our Republican Congress is getting the important work done Wink

They have plenty of time available right now because they are waiting for the Senate to vote on the 15 job bills they have submitted that Harry Reid refuses to bring forward.  Grin

Mike,

I was just reminded of another thought along this vein.  Think of the progress that could have been done during all the time wasted while Numb Nuts was playing golf.  Gee I haven't heard much about this on the lamestream news.  No not like the years that proceeded this president.  Wink

Quote
Between 2000 and 2008 one of the left’s most cherished ways to ridicule President Bush was to point out how often he went golfing. Bush’s golfing was a clear sign that he was ignoring the work he had to do in Washington and that he just didn’t care they claimed. He was a playboy, a goof off, a time waster. But now that Barack Obama has come to office all of a sudden the left has found that golf isn’t worth noting, even as Obama has played the game more in just under two years than Bush did during his entire eight-year term.

The word hypocrisy comes to mind.

In 2003 President Bush decided to give up golfing because he did not want families of wounded and KIA soldiers to see him playing a game while they served and died in Iraq and Afghanistan. Being seen on the golf course in wartime hasn’t seemed to deter President Obama, however.

Obama even skipped the funeral of the leader of Poland, a most staunch ally, to go play golf. Few in the Old Media seemed very worried about it.

But for Bush it was different. Even propagandist filmmaker Michael Moore used golf against President Bush. In his film Fahrenheit 9/11 the rotund spoofer used a clip of Bush golfing to attempt to make him seem out of touch. Additionally, Bush’s golf game was meticulously covered by the Old Media and used to make him seem tone-deaf.

But as far as the Old Media is concerned, Obama “needs some downtime.” His golf is nothing to be worried about.

Just a reminder of the hypocrisy of the Old Media and the American left.

I believe he'll be available to sign the "in 'god 'we 'trust" bill......yawn......and then he might as well go back to golf.

He's not a congressman is he? Grin

No he is not a congressman. He was barely a senator.  He missed 24% of the votes all together and didn't take a stand (voted present) on many more.  Wink This in his long career as a US Senator (2005-2008)  Roll Eyes

The Constitution says you have to be 45, and a US citizen to be President.  I didn't realize you had to have been a Congressman...a "ragman" approved senator or a governor to be Presidnet of the US.   did they change the rules...or just you Grin

No but his lack of experience in National politics and in the private sector are certainly showing and the American people are suffering because of him.  Wink

Which one of the top 3 in the Republican ticket running for President has any experience in "national" politics.........none.

2 have experience in business.....but any idiot who went to college for 4 years and got a degree in business administration.......and worked for a mom and pop has experience in business..........like that makes a difference.

Why would the President have to be a businessman?  90% of Americans aren't businessmen.

Shouldn't the President represent the majority of Americans?

  wrong again  Shocked  Newt Gingrich

Mitt I don't think is conservative enough for me but he ran a State successfully after it was almost wrecked by a liberal with Presidential intentions.  In addition to that he is a very successful businessman and not some one with just got a degree in BA.  You don't have to be like 90% of the US population, you just have to be able to provide what they need to be successful, even if some of them don't realize just what that is.   Wink  Mitt would be 100X better than the narrow minded liberal socialist who is now sitting in the seat.  Oh I stand corrected he is probably not sitting, he is probably on the golf course.   Grin
