and BTW, I've used IE in all it's incarnations for yeasts and not once ever had a virus/spyware implant, etc.  Lucky or cautious?   Wink

I would say that it's because you aren't browsing the good porn sites, but my wife recently was hit browsing craft websites.

Even Facebook and the NY Times had viruses in their advertisements recently that would have affected IE users.

At the risk of being verbally assaulted

Don't feel bad, I thought Taco was asking should she go to the Opera or on a Safari and I was going to say that she needed to avoid the Opera at all costs!

For some months Firefox has been hugely problemmatical, taking up to a minute or even longer to start.  Several new releases have been issued claiming to have solved the problem, but on my machine (running Vista) it still behaves like a dog.  Not everyone is affected, but if you're one who isn't and think I'm making this up just go to the Mozilla/Firefox discussion forum.

That being the case, what is the best browser to replace Firefox?

Why not give Chrome a try peterbj7? While I can't say I have had that issue with firefox I did with safari and Chrome was much faster for me.

The only reason I load firefox these days is for their debugging plugins.  Otherwise, I'm nearly 100% Chrome and Opera.

For a general browser replacement, Chrome is really great. Might take a bit of getting used to because it is almost too simple with the interface, but you'll pick it up quickly.

The biggest deficiency in Chrome is that is hasn't supported plugins.  If you use a ton of plugins in your firefox, you will probably miss them in Chrome.  But plugins are coming.  They are in the dev branch and will soon make their way to the beta release.
