Rhonda, in case you really don't know, Tim Horton was a hockey player in the 1960s (mainly with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres) who opened a coffee/doughnut shop in Hamilton with a cop named Ron Joyce. Horton was killed in a car accident in 1974 and the business has gone on to be highly successful, with franchises in Canada and the US.

Thanks Moose, no I didn't really know. I've heard of Tim Horton's of course but not the story behind it. I was born on Cape Breton, haven't been back in years but my parents have a second home there so sort of familiar. I tend to head south more...Enjoy your weekend.

most of the people I  have seen walking out of that franchise, were missing more than two teeth, drove either an Escort or AMX and had one of those inside out tractor tire flower planters in the front yard of the doublewide.

Damn K, why didn't you drop in for a visit. Did the 3 pitbulls scare you off?  You can include Silverado and F150 in your list of veeeeeehicles. Actually, I don't frequent Hortons but there is definitely a subculture of poor folks that need their caffeine fix or just want to part with their Loonies and Toonies every day. But I must say, Hortons is a very active sponsor of minors sports teams in Canada, particularly soccer, baseball and hockey.

HEY... hey.......hey......... Moose...  watch who you claim on Silverado ownership! Yes, I've got my 4 X 4 Silverado that I would not trade for all the Lexus, Range Rovers and Tim bits in Canada.  And as previously stated, I DO have all my teeth, not married to a cousin, in-law, out-law nor do I own pit bulls.  I consider myself to be an intelligent woman that happens to enjoy her truck for the plain simple fact of needing it on a weekly basis in dealings with ranch work.

Not too many ranches in the city where I live dcg, but the pickup truck crowd seem to enjoy their coffee at Hortons, whereas the BMW crowd go to Starbucks. A cup of instant Nescafe made in the microwave is good enough for me.  Tongue

Moose - thanks for the story. I did not know that either. I also love my truck and need it to function. I have a full set of teeth, but must confess some of them I paid for.

You're welcome 2ag. Just a brief follow up. Tim Horton had a reputation for finishing hockey fights by putting his opponent in a bear hug. He wasn't overly tall, but very strong.

Well it's off to golf for me. 2C, dull and windy. Better wear a toque.  Grin

Very true JZB, but we haven't even had a frost yet. I always figure we will have some flurries by Remembrance Day.
