I saw Michael Moore's new movie last night. As usual with his movies, it was full of seriously undeniable truths and factual statements positioned in such a way to make a straw man argument about a complete non-sequitur.
It is clear from watching the movie that Michael Moore either does not understand at all the definition of Capitalism or he was intentionally misleading his viewers on it's definition in order to push a socialist agenda.
What I find most disappointing is that his points and the facts presented were terrific arguments against current political corruption by big banking and Wall Street and most importantly against the Federal Reserve yet he chose to cheapen the effect by laying the blame on the "evils" of Capitalism.
If you piece together the puzzle he lays out on your own rather than buying into his conclusion, it's pretty easy to see that the failure lies in government and the power they impose on the private sector, not of the free enterprise of the private sector.
Capitalism isn't evil. Corruption is evil. And our government has and is plenty of evil.
What Michael Moore really wants is to end the fed and allow businesses the freedom to succeed. He wants capitalism, he just doesn't know it.

ds, It was laughable in an interview I saw last night when MM denied it was capitalism that made him wealthy.
First of all any system on any subject is bound not to be perfect. This system has enabled many people to be free in all sorts of ways and is a proven success over all. Let's not tear the top down to bring up the bottom. Let's help the bottom rise.

Haven't seen it yet as I'm afraid I would have a stroke and puke in my popcorn. The problem is that I wish everyone in the world would watch about 3/4 of his movie. He lays out very explicitly (and correctly) how it is Goldman Sachs that currently rules the world (and has since the Clinton election). He just somehow manages to blame Capitalism for this. If you do want to watch it, forget the first 45 minutes to an hour of the flick and then start watching. The last half is much better than the first.

ds, my bigest problem would be putting money in his pocket by watching it even if it had a redeeming half.

So buy a ticket for the Ricky Gervais movie and sneak into Michael Moore's.
But don't worry... if the attendance of the theater when I watched it is any indication, he's not making a whole lot on this one.

As long as Michael Moore doesn't have to be one! (It's not capitalism if you're making a truck load of cash for yourself,,,,that's entrepreneurship)
