The FCC is now screwing with us Bloggers by threatening to fine us up to 10k for each review we post where we receive the product or service for free or at a discount if we fail to disclose that fact.

As a result, I've posted the following disclosure to my blog http://jasonsouthwell.com

--
Generic FCC Disclosure:
If I speak positively about a product or service, assume I got it for free even though I probably didn't. If I speak negatively about a product, assume I paid for it, even though it may have been free. My promise is that when posting a review you will always receive my honest opinion with every word regardless the discount on the respective product or service.

I just roll that way. Screw you FCC. Screw you.
--

I encourage any other blogger hosted in the US to do something similar.  And feel free to use it word for word if you wish, though understand that I do not guarantee it's effectiveness in protecting against government oppression of free speech.

I don't blog, but I like your disclaimer, and will share the sentiment and the blurb with friends of mine who blog in the US.  What a crock of hooey - screw you FCC (FDA, FTC, EPA...)

The FCC go **** themselves as far as I'm concerned.  If I ever receive such a fine, I'll refuse to pay it, period.

The US Government is rapidly turning into something akin to a Nazi dictatorship (or, more accurately, a Kenyan wannabe Nazi dictatorship).

The Janet Jackson/Superbowl FCC ruling is probably on its way to the Supreme Court....something about the 1st Amendment!

Huh at a country that will allow extreme violence and bloodshed to be shown on TV, but not a split second of bare breast. I watch Survivor and the censors are very careful to blur a 1" piece of ass crack (male or female), too much cheek hanging out of a bikini bottom, or any skin close to a female nipple. Heaven forbid that anybody could see that, but let's show some bloody bodies on the streets of Bagdad or a violent cartoon directed at children. But then, I'm not American so I guess I don't understand your basic rights and freedoms.

The government has no business regulating anything shown on TV or in any other media form.  I don't think the FCC should exist at all.

Yeah, our government is bizzare in the things it decides to censor, but it shouldn't censor anything at all. God **** America....
