Swine flu causes surge of garlic sales in Serbia

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iUAA2GCLG-ftUe92AbU5GN4aC4vgD9BUMV9G5

Without sounding like I'm too far out there, I swear by the ability of Garlic to ward off cold and flu.  I take 1500 mg of odor less garlic daily and very seldom in the last 20 years to I get a cold or flu and then it is very mild and gone in a couple of days.  I think there is something to this.

When I was a teen I worked in the summers for some wood cutters that cleared land for power lines and did logging.  The old Portuguese guy about 85 at the time who owned the company chewed garlic all the time.  He lived to his middle 90's and in all the years I knew him he was never sick a day.  At his funeral they confirmed that he was never sick.  I think he drank a lot of home made wine too, so take your choice. I took the clue.

clover, this administration like other administrations looks for justifications for positions they have taken.  This administration is not beyond bending the facts to suit their purpose. You can see that in the Health Care bill and the stimulus bill to name a couple.
If the administration doesn't respond the opposing political party will chastise them for failing to lead.  If they respond they are accused of over-reacting.

I personally don't think an administration "lies" for some unknown reason

Every administration lies, and the reasons are well known and very visible.  I don't believe the agendas are well hidden in the least.

ds, True! And this administration has been fairly up front on what its agenda was right from the start if you dig around a little with open eyes.  The news media has not reported on so much that it is pathetic but the American people who thought he would govern from left of center are starting to come to their senses.  It is a real Left Wing Liberal agenda and will change this country in many ways if not stopped.

papa,  the funny thing was one of his sons came up to me and said "It was so sudden, we never expected it" The last time I saw him he wasn't sick but he was shaking like a leaf and did look fragile. Cripes the guy was 96 years old.  Maybe he lived so long because others kept their distance  Grin

I had my H1N1 shot today. I was given the unadjuvanted vaccine, which is the one they give to pregnant women. Now my breasts are engorged.  Shocked

So far, so good. Not even a sore arm. I'm migrating south of the 49th parallel on Monday and I wanted to be prepared.

I was given the unadjuvanted vaccine

Just curious, when they gave you this vaccine, was there one needle or two?

I've heard reports that some people are getting the adjuvant solution injected with a second needle so that they can advertise the unadjuvanted vaccine as being the one administered.

I only had one needle. I believe the adjuvanted vaccine is given in one needle as well, with everything mixed. The procedure may be different in different areas, although I don't know why it would be. I know that there is mixing involved because the vaccine only has a 24 hour shelf life after mixing and some has been thrown out because it wasn't used on time. The only cases I have heard involving 2 needles is with some children that receive a 1/2 dose on 2 separate occasions, some days apart. The needles must be getting finer, or I am losing feeling, because I literally did not feel a thing.
