Inplub, you seem totally fixated on the GST issue.  Is that not an issue between Coral Beach and the government of Belize?  Seems that you did your part.  Why do you continue on your crusade?  Perhaps if you are so concerned that the government of Belize gets their just GST you could sign up as a collection agent for them.  I would be willing to bet there are many, many businesses  on the island of AC that are not properly remitting GST, property taxes, trade license fees, etc, etc, etc.  At some point perhaps you should pursue other endeavors.   Why would any potential buyer ever want to purchase your property?  With all the mud slinging that has transpired it would seem to need, at the very minimum, an exorcism.  I think Pedro could help you with that.  Seems like all parties, real estate agent, buyer and seller have all suffered because of this endless tirade.  Move on and let peace settle on the island.

You are totally missing the point, to the extent that your post is at the least disingenuous.  What if I agree with you a price to sell you something but then demand an additional 10%, and justify it by saying it's because the government requires me to?  You end up paying 10% more than you intended.  What if you then find out that far from paying that extra money to the government I pocketed it myself?  Will you be happy about that?

What bethieb says makes sense to me. If Belize is not a litigious society, how do they settle their disputes?

After reading the report in today's San Pedro Daily about the fellow found dead with his nose cut off, there's a clue how some settle their disputes.

My thoughts exactly. Sounds like the middle east, where shoplifters get their hands chopped off. Rapists just get flown out to sea and dropped off, from a few thousand feet.
