As usual everybody from the far right thinks everyone else is a democrat.  It's a blissful existence.

Here's some more facts to cure your delusion.

If you'd done your homework you could have blamed the whole mess on the Clinton administration...but alas.....

Recession Scoreboard:

The Winner:  The Canadian Banking system

The Loser: The American way of life!  For those that are not sure what that is please see the definition below;

American Way of Life:  To live beyond your means and to leverage every asset you own so that you can go on vacation for a week.  Always spend more then you should and never pay anything you owe.  When the shit hits the fan drop the keys off at the bank and move on.  Always make sure your car is new, you house has at least 4 extra bedrooms and if you don't have at least 4 times more short term debt than your annual income you are not doing it properly.

STOP BLAMING THE GOVERNMENT FOR YOUR SHORTCOMMINGS!

This will all change when Americans start to accept responsibility.

Some already have.  What's your excuse!

I understand and agree with your sentiment but I wouldn't go branding this as the American way of life. There are quite a few of us that still believe in hard work, saving your money, living within your means, educating your children (and keeping them polite), honor and some other concepts that the 'nanny state' has tried to abolish. It is just these big government handouts that encourage this profligacy.

I, personally, like most everything about Canada and it's people and I am grateful that they are our neighbors (or for you Canandians - neighbours) and that they are well North of us. I would love Canadian for nothing else other than them keeping the Francophones of North America there with them rather than having them back in Louisiana.

And Canada - congratulations on a terrific Winter Olympics and a close win in the big game.

I second what GOD said. That is hitting it right square on the head.

Too many Americans are self-absorbed into the "I must have the biggest, newest, most expensive". A perfect example is people camping out to get the newest phone or game system. What idiots. Wait a couple of weeks and it is on every shelf in America.

If everyone had the old school mentality of "I want to keep every red cent I make" we wouldn't be where we are now. JM everso HO.

Regardless of its applicability to the USA, that comment could be made of the British, French, Germans et al.  The British will queue all night to be the first in at the "sales", or to get the latest iPhone or other gadget.

Note for Americans on British usage - the "sales" are when mass reductions of prices are made.  But "for sale" or "on sale" merely mean goods are available for purchase, with no implication that prices are reduced.

The "American way of Life"  was used as a term and not meant to single out Americans.  There are folks in France, Britain, Canada and Germany leading this type of life.
