I recently got laid off from my job in PA after 15 yrs and have been to San Pedro several times.  I have IT backround and also I have my
beauty license to cut hair. Things in PA are not looking so good right now, the Governor still has not passed the budget. We are on day 60 with no budget in site.

There needs to be a "none of the above" option.

IT is always in demand...  however, you will need a work permit before you can work.  Starting a business may be more challenging as you may need residency for that (I am sure that others can fill you in on those requirements).  Good luck!

there are only two people on the island who deal with IT -julian and Marissa -they are both inundated with work -there is a lot of room here to do well but you better be good -work permits are not a problem just a little expensive but if you know what you are doing you should recoup your money within a month easily

Could you clarify the type of IT work in need on the island?  The term covers so many areas of expertise.

There must be something that is stopping that business opportunity because I'm sure somebody would have thought of it before.

Over nine years ago I went to Rendezvous restaurant and was force fed their homemade wine -it was disgusting and I woke up in the morning with a huge hangover and this gave me the idea of making my own wine.I rented a top office in Fidos and bought all the wine making equipment and had it shipped to San Pedro-anyway everything was going great for a while and I had 125 gallons fermenting -then came the day to taste it and unfortunately it was nearly as bad as Rendezvous's collection-so Gary and I (who was manager of Fido's at the the time)-tipped it all down the sink-serves me right(I thought I was going to make bucket loads of dosh)-anyway it turned out that it is too hot to make decent wine-probably the reason why they keep it in cellars

yes, our mutual friend from up north told me that story one time when we were discussing you pedro.
he seems to believe that you harbor some jealousy issues relating to his incredibly successful wine dynasty...

Thanks for that info Pedro. I suspected that there would be a far more exciting reason, like a Bowen monopoly on alcohol production.
