gwena I agree with you on this one.  Now that we have 2 organizations working for a better life for the animals we should hope to see twice the results and twice the love!  If only all of us folks with 2 legs could simply agree to disagree and move on.

For the next ten days SPAH will be closed, or at any rate there won't be a vet there.  Let's hope SAGA can astound us all with their progress in that time.

Okay, what if I knock it off but it is not just imperfection, dysfunction and strong opinion on the other side?  What if there is intentional bad will?  I know everyone is sick of this.  BELIEVE ME I AM TOO.  I am the one that has to continue dealing with Saga every day.  Truly what is the answer for me?  Ignore the things I am seeing and experiencing?  That is going to be next to impossible.

But I do agree. Complaining at this point is pointless.  And we can stop all the BSing on this board.  It´s not helping.

I am off to a beautiful cloud forest in Costa Rica and hope to leave all my complaints and disappointments in Belize...

I hope I can be saying thanks everybody. We all get hurt in this life, and I know that too well. There is a process of grieving, and not to be trite or pedantic, I will just say anger is part of it. It's normal. And, unfortunately you can't move through the process until you are ready. One is not done until one is done.
I know it is trite to say life isn't fair. But it isn't. On an Island of 14,000 depending on who's counting, most of us have to continue living and working with people who have pissed us off.
I think, those of us who manage it, are probably bigger people in the end than people who live in places where it isn't put in our faces every day. So, I must say, I see people who have pissed me off, been unfair to me, and who have wronged me every day...and I know I have done the same thing to them.
I'll try a new year, if you will

Have a great trip Laurie!   The Cloud Forest sounds wonderful.

I agree the BSing on this or any other board about SAGA is fruitless.   If problems are not acknowledge from within there is no way to cure the problems.   I am seriously concerned about the stray and shelter animals, and until things materially change, I will continue to be concerned.   By saying so I will probably catch flack, but I won't sweep their welfare under the rug to appease SAGA and its cheerleaders.  Apparently no amount of discussion is affecting SAGA in any positive manner, and I agree there is nothing much more to say.  Gwen I know what you mean about the small town and getting along - gotta do whatever makes life good, agreed.

By gones can be by-gones.  Here is a salute to getting along, erasing the past and making amends.  Cheers.

Hello from Costa Rica!

I have had a lot of time to think on this trip and it has been great for me to get away from San Pedro.

Although it is admirable to have the let by gones be by gones attitude, we all should remember that the police have been involved and things are no longer so simple.  As well, I have been put in a dangerous position.

As a result, I do believe it best that Saga find their own vet.  I will not be posting on this board much any more because I know that too often what is written is misinterpreted, and many people will also not believe what I have to say.  Anyone who would like to contact me please feel free to write me any time at my personal email lauriedroke@gmail.com.

I also would like to clarify that in my previous post what I was referring to as "things I am seeing and hearing of Saga every day" I was referring to their effects on animals I am seeing, not on how they are treating me personally. I have been seeing suffering animals, whose owners are having a hard time finding me, and therefore help for their pets.  This is what I was referring to.  I know that this is a small island and we must learn to coexist.  That is a good point that I will try to take to heart.  I think the best thing is for us to coexist separately.  I will continue to offer them free spay and neuter vouchers as my time allows, but other than that I think it best that we are not involved with each other.  I feel much more at peace now that I have come to this conclusion and I hope it will bring some peace to others involved in this as well.  I am looking forward to helping the communty in my own way now, through the San Pedro Animal Hospital and the San Pedro Animal Foundation.  I know that some people will not like this, but I do have to look after my own safety and happiness as well.

Right now I am in a beautiful hotel in the cloud forest.  We will be going on a twilight hike in a couple of hours.  Tomorrow is horseback riding and a canopy tour.
The people here are so warm and friendly, you get the feeling that they really do live by the Costa Rican motto "Pura Vida."  Pure life.  For those of you who have never been here I highly recommend it!

Hey Doc!

What hotel are you in?  The CR cloud forest is one of my fav non-AC memories.  And, the zip lining (ducking.....) beats the hell out of Jaguar Paw.
