Obama Care passed, but is it really over? Ten states are joining to sue. From Business Week: "March 22 (Bloomberg) -- Ten states will challenge the constitutionality of the health-care overhaul passed yesterday by the U.S. House, said Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum.
The legislation places a burden on already cash-strapped states to fund an expanded Medicaid program and build a new insurance exchange so that individuals can find affordable insurance, McCollum told a press conference today in Orlando, Florida. For Medicaid alone, it will cost the state of Florida $1.6 billion, he said.
Florida is being joined by Texas, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, North and South Dakota, Alabama, Nebraska, Utah and Washington in a lawsuit that McCollum said would be filed “as soon as the president signs the bill,” which is expected tomorrow.
“This is a bad bill,” McCollum said. “That’s a political determination and a practical one.”
He said the mandate for individuals to buy some form of health insurance is unconstitutional. It also infringes on the ability of states to provide other services, such as education, to its citizens because of the cost burdens, he said. Florida estimates it will have to hire 1,000 more employees.

I find it interesting that the only bipartisan support was on the no side of the vote.

I am trying to be optimistic here. If there's an up-side, it's that liberty-loving candidates for office should see a huge up-swing if they can hold the momentum through November.
Hits on my website have jumped dramatically and I'm just a lowly state senatorial candidate.

Clover, Here in Massachusetts we are sinking from the weight of "Romney Care". Mitt has his good points and maybe he would be just the thing to get us out of the financial mess we are in but Health care is not his strong point and neither is Conservatism. He didn't raise taxes but that can't be said of fees from Driver Licenses to License to Carry ($100 to renew) and anything else you can think of. He was a good steward of the States finances and part of Gov. Patric's undoing was when he restored some of the cuts that Romney made.
Gun owners where never comfortable with him.
Still all and all we would welcome him back compared to what we have now. In addition he had to work with a State Democratic Congress and Senate which both hold overwhelming majorities.

(1) Romney is presently the front runner in the Republican party. (2) Would you rather have Romney as your President or Obama?

Clover,
1. Too early to tell who is going to the primaries. We'll see, after the Nov election things maybe clearer.
2. Is that a serious question? OB does not mount to a wart on Mitt's ass.

Honestly I agree with you. I prefer his health insurance reform plan over Obama's. the question is, since you live in Massachusetts, do you like his health care plan? I have a close friend in Georgetown that thinks its the shit!
