Anyone have an opinion about the San Pedro version of Mail Boxes Etc?

http://www.mbe-belize.com/

Why would someone get a box there vs at the Post Office on front street?

Also, has anyone used their services to purchase a product and have it shipped to them via their Miami location?  If so, how was the experience and what did it cost?

Yes - have used them several times for shipping - we have a PO box, so didn't use that service (not sure if you are aware, but the PO Boxes are very limited - we were lucky to share it with a part-time resident).  The fee is based on weight and the duty is sometimes fair and sometimes not so much (but hey, this is Belize, right?).

I let Rob know to expect an order and he calls me when it arrives, which is handy.

I have had a mailbox long time with Dianne Quicksilver messenger and my main reason for going with her over post office is she calls me when I have mail. Also my mailbox it at San Pedro Public which is closer to home. At the post office if you use reg general delivery they can send mail back if you do not pick it up within a few weeks.

For MBE they have great shipping options to get stuff sent to a Miami address and then brought here to their store. Saves from going to the post office having your packages opened and scrutinized for what duty you should pay.

It is a total crap shoot for what they charge you and they do not care if the item was a gift or did not cost you anything. I once got some great skincare sent to me as I was selected to test it and do a survey. The company sent to me for free and the post office charged me $80 bzd to get it. I almost choked when he said the price - when I asked why so much he replied "because Lotions are expensive" I just smiled politely and paid for it.

p.s. Jean is right pretty hard to get a p.o box at the post office unless you are well connected.

So, this is going to sound weird, but you know how the little things mean so much here, but I ordered a box of Korean noodles from Amazon through Mail Boxes Etc., and I'm totally stoked about it.  I ordered online on a Monday a box of noodles and received it the next Monday.  The noodles were $26 US, and it shipped to Miami for free (since most e-commerce sites now offer free shipping in the US), so then it was $5 US for customs, and $10 US for shipping to San Pedro, so the total was $41 US for something I would never be able to get otherwise on the island, and I'd never ask anyone to bring me a box of noodles!  My computer just broke down and I need to order a graphics card, which I'm definitely going to do through eBay and Mail Boxes Etc.

I tried out Mail Boxes Etc. I have brought in a laptop computer and a camera so far. Both times that I have used them they were very good! I got the my laptop and camera way cheaper from the U.S. I think it was about 30-40% cheaper than buy it locally.

I am thinking about bring in some magazines, there are very few choices here and the local prices are very high.
Now I can get whatever I want! I think this should help with my Island fever! I think I will bring in a little piece of home!

Everytime I go there they have been very helpfull.
If there is something that you are missing from home they can help!
