Jason has finally formed the new non-profit, totally transparent charity for San Pedro.  It has taken him months, he's exhausted and will probably need a cold Belikin about now!  I commend him for his noble effort.  Here's the new website.

Thanks... this non-profit is long overdue in my opinion and I'm just glad it's now starting to come together.

If anyone has any contact info for the local non-profits doing work on the island today, could you please send me a PM with it?

That's good news.

Great job.

One of my favorite causes is the police cadets group.  Of course I work a lot with the neighbourhood watch groups.  Other groups that always need funding include both of the animal foundations.  All of the schools on the island.  Green Reef, ACCSD, Lions Club.  There is a group that will soon be operational that will be working with troubled and at risk youths.  Whew, tons of causes in need.....

Please head over to our needs forums and post your suggestions there.  I'd like to start a dialog surrounding what we can do.

Also, if you have any contact information for any of these groups, I'd love to get that from you.  Feel free to drop me a PM or email it to donations@friendsofsanpedro.org

Amanda,  regarding the "troubled and at risk", is this something relatively new, or just coming to fruition after a few years of discussion/planning?

We can certainly help raise the funds for the project if SAGA is on board.

Jason - is the charity now back on track after the banking hiccup?

Incidentally, did you get my PM a few weeks ago?

Yes. Back on track.

All but one or two donors resubmitted their donations.

I must have missed the pm.  Will double check for it and respond.
