In an initiative to make Belize a more competitive and affordable Central American and Caribbean travel destination American Airlines is proud to announce that effective May 21st, 2010 American Airlines has lowered their fares from Miami (MIA) to Belize (BZE). AA is also exploring lowering rates from Dallas (DFW) to Belize (BZE) and introducing new routes from the northeast and northwest United States.

Just for the halibut, I priced a June trip from MIA/BZE & return.  $558.45 is not such a great deal.  If that is a 40% savings, then have people been paying $900?Huh  methinks not.

I booked BOS to BZE for $625 on Continental this morning for a June flight.  There where only a few seats available when I preselected the seats on the IAH to BZE run down.

and I guarandamntee you there are more seats open than what they are showing.  Check the seaitng charts periodically between now & then.  Then compare it to when you check-in online within 24 hours..............magic seats appear!  "OH gosh, honey, we better book now - look the seats are filling!"

klc, maybe but not my experience.  A lot of time they will tell you at the beginning that there are only 3 seats or whatever at this price.  When you actually do the transaction it is near the end of the transaction that you pick your seats (if you want to).  This is usually a good indication of how full the plane will be in my experience.... but hey what the hell do I know  Grin

At any rate we where watching the fares for the last few months and while it is a long way from the $350 - 400 fares of 4-5 years ago, it is still about $100 less than fares of late.  Twice my wife could have booked at about $525 but decided to wait to talk to me.  Both times those fare disappeared.  The tickets we booked where at $625.  We have been seeing $750+ for some time.

Unfortunately for me, I have to stay home and work and will miss this trip.  Wife and daughter will give me reports.  Next winter though........I can't wait.  Grin

When "double" checking those seat availability charts, remember to clear your browsing history between each visit.
Most booking sites cookie your comuter to give you consistant answers.
My wife and I have even both had our laptops on the same sites and got different seat availablity charts at times.

Continental RT in Jan. from Boston to BZE $619  RT from Houston  $568 Huh   The BOS to IAH $51 diff.?  I just can't figure this.  I guess I won't drive down the East Coast this year.  From MIA is even more expensive the other day when I checked.  WTF?  Maybe next year I'll leave early, maybe late Sept. and drive down.  Take my time and visit my friends on the coast when I have more time.

Air fares are just not logical and I guess I don't understand them.   Embarrassed

I'm hoping that the JetBlue Belize route goes from Boston instead of NY.
