Digicell has a clause in their prepaid service terms that states:

4.6 If the Customer's Prepaid Account is inactive for three (3) consecutive months, DigiCell will deactivate the Service and the Customer will lose the telephone number assigned to the Customer.

What do they mean by inactive?  If I top it up does that keep it active?  if I make a call from the phone outside the country does that keep it active?

Does anyone know the details?

We had one deactivated for non use. You need to make call from or to it occasionally.

I usually go down about every 6 months and even though my minutes have expired after 3 months, my SIM card has always worked so my local phone number stays the same.  The phone doesn't get any use between visits because I bring it back to the States with me each time.  Maybe I'm lucky, but I've had it about 3 years now without a problem.
