It seems that the owner of the building has taken over the business, just why isn't clear.  Apparently the premises were open for business yesterday evening, but AFAIK all the previous staff have gone.  So "Lime" as we knew it is over.

Lime was what it was largely through the boundless energy of Sharon Boyd, so without her I suspect it'll become just another local bar.  No idea what will happen to the tour business, but presumably it'll simply stop.  Although now isn't the best time to be looking for employment, if anyone can find a job and make a difference in it Sharon will.

That's before  she made it happen .hard work and Personality and  she and her team built it up to a island happening ..I guess The owner of the building did see it full and got greedy ??And thought they can reap the harvest another silly thing in my book .but again till we here the story?? why speculate ...GREED ??MAYBE..LETS HERE WHATS THE REAL STORY.BUT IT WILL NEVER I REPEAT NEVER BE THE SAME ..

We never went to Lime until someone wrongly implied on the other board that Lime had the fastest free internet of any bar in town... while I was extremely disappointed in the internet speed, the drinks, food and staff were terrific and we went back several times each trip since.

I'll check out the new place just to give them a chance, but I do hope that Sharon finds a new location and is able to reproduce whatever she did to make Lime a success.

Grin from the man who said the pre-Lime establishment and BC's was too far to go from Tropic to grab an adult beverage and pined for a bar at the terminal ( before the Tropic bar was built)............proving once again that time changes all.   Cheesy

Lime was mostly a breakfast stop before morning flights into Belize City or a quick hot dog and beer in the random afternoon. My pre-flight drink establishment of choice has actually become the new bar in the Tropic terminal.

Incidentally, the tropic terminal has also become my bathroom of choice when strolling through town on my way back to Pedros...

I agree Tropic has best bathrooms. Now if only Bar 208 would reopen after summer holiday.

When I was there last week, they were renovating.  No idea what they have planned but it doesn't appear like it will be a bar.
