All of us old fogies should be excited by this news http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/7928426/Damaged-heart-could-be-coaxed-into-mending-itself-claim-scientists.html that researchers at the University of California have found a way (they think) to make heart tissue regenerate, something that has never been possible before.  They reckon clinical trials may start in around five years, so if we can all hang on perhaps 10 years we may then quite literally get a new lease of life.
