Another popular form of transportation on island is by water, on the Coastal Express. This company is a water taxi which runs up and down the coast of Ambergris Caye from Pelican Reef Resort (to the south), up to Blue Reef Resort (to the North) regularly. However if you are staying further north or south of the regular scheduled runs and would like to use the water taxi you will need to book a private  water taxi (this can be more expensif than the regular water taxi runs). If you are staying in a group and would like a water taxi, it is more cost effective to book the boat ahead of time and travel together.

The boats travel once every two (2) hours in the morning and afternoon and every hour in the evening; these hours vary on the low/high season in San Pedro.

Please be sure to check the schedule board at Amigos del Mar’s dock for exact scheduled times in case of changes.

There are 2 Timetables. One for Northbound on the island, and the other departing from Amgios going Southbound.

This first timetable is NORTHBOUND leaving from Amgios del Mar (going North) to Blue Reef, and going south to return to Amigos dock.
